Roll out the sandwich bread. If your bread has a crust, trim it or the pockets won't seal.

Brush the edges of the bread with a beaten egg.

Close the pockets and press the edges well.

Brush with melted butter  (all sides, even the bottom)

Step 2

Air fry in a preheated air fryer at 180 °C (350 °F) for 3 - 5 minutes. It depends how dark and crispy you want these.

If using an oven, bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (350 °F) with the fan setting on for 3 -5 minutes.

If using a toaster, these should take around 2 minutes.

If using a pan, preheat the pan and cook for around 2 minutes on each side.

Pro Tips

Make sure your slices of bread have the crusts completely removed. If the bread has any crust, the edges won’t seal, and your pockets won’t hold their contents.
