This microwave pizza recipe comes fully approved by an Italian - me! The dough for the pizza comes together in an instant (it’s a no yeast pizza dough), and you cook it in the microwave in a minute. This must be the fastest way to cook a real pizza (yes, I said real pizza!) ever, and it’s totally delicious! It’s the perfect savoury snack.

Ingredients

For the pizza dough

50g (⅓ cup) Self-raising flour (see below for substitutes)

30g (2 tbsp) Milk (Depending on your flour you may need an additional ½ tsp of milk)

A pinch of salt

For the toppings

1 tbsp Seasoned pizza/tomato sauce

2 tbsp Shredded cheese (you can add a little more if you like)

Self raising flour substitutes:
50g (⅓ cup) All purpose flour + ½ tsp baking powder

Method

In a bowl, mix the self-raising flour, salt and milk.

On a surface, knead the dough for about a minute or until it comes together.

If the dough seems dry, you can add an additional ½ tsp of milk

.Roll out the dough to about 12 - 13 cm (5 inches) onto some parchment paper and poke holes in the dough with a fork.

The dough will look thin, but in the microwave it will puff up because of the self-raising flour.

Spread tomato sauce on top of the pizza and microwave the pizza for around 45 seconds.

Add the cheese and microwave the pizza for an additional 45 seconds or 1 full minute.

Allow the pizza to sit for 2 minutes, then enjoy immediately.

Tips

If you’re using cups to measure the flour (as opposed to weighing it), please make sure not to pack the flour tightly in the measuring cup, otherwise the dough will end up too dry.

Every microwave is different. The total cook time in your microwave could be anywhere between 1 minute and 30 seconds to 1 minute and 50 seconds.

Other toppings don't do well in the microwave, but you can certainly experiment and try.
